Connecting your own AI

Let Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or another assistant read and work in your books, as you, with your role's limits and a full audit trail.

What this is

Your own AI assistant can connect to Nummio and ask questions of your books, pull a report, draft an invoice, or record a payment, all from wherever you already talk to it. It acts as you: it sees one business per connection, only what your role allows, and every change it makes is written to the audit log under your name with the tool named beside it. This is separate from the suggestions Nummio's own AI makes in the review queue.

Connecting a tool

Open Settings → Connected AI tools and copy the server address shown there. In Claude, add it under Settings → Connectors as a custom connector. In ChatGPT, add it under Settings → Connectors with developer mode on. In Cursor or Claude Code, add it to the tool's MCP configuration. The tool then sends you to a Nummio page to sign in, choose which business it may see, and choose read-only or read and write. Approve, and it's connected.

What a connected tool can do

• Read: today's cash position and what's due, transactions, invoices, customers, vendors, the chart of accounts, and the profit and loss, balance sheet, trial balance, and A/R and A/P aging reports, plus the review queue.
• Write, when you allowed it: add a customer, draft an invoice, send an invoice, record a payment, capture an expense, accept a review-queue item, and send a payment reminder.

Writes go through exactly the same rules as clicking in the app: an Employee's assistant can't post, a locked period still rejects a backdated entry, and nothing skips the review queue.

What it never sees

Nummio never hands an AI tool your EIN or a vendor's taxpayer id, bank account or routing numbers, card details, receipt images, or Stripe account details, whatever the tool asks for.

Disconnecting and keeping track

Connected AI tools lists every connection for the business with who made it, its access level, and when it was last used. Revoke one there in a click and the tool loses access immediately. Removing someone from the team disconnects their tools as well. In the audit log, filter by channel to see everything done through an AI tool, each entry marked with the tool that made it.
